The time has come again: We are looking for both a line therapist AND a lead therapist for our team in central Vancouver (Cambie and 22nd Ave and also Main and 16th Ave)
Our fourteen year old daughter is high functioning, verbal, outgoing and engaging. Her therapy is varied and her progress is consistent. She has been doing ABA for twelve years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch via the Early Autism Project and the program is a home-based ABA program supervised by a well-respected BCBA.
For the lead position, previous experience with ABA programs is a must and previous lead experience would be swell. For the line therapist, previous experience with ABA programs is a plus, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligatory for both. Initial training will be provided by our lead therapist along with follow up sessions.
Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to: running sessions, overlapping with our consultant, preparing for team meetings once a month, providing reports to the consultant, working on scheduling, and overlapping therapists. You will also need to provide feedback to the therapists and ourselves, train new therapists, oversee data recorded, probe new targets, and coach the team.
Line therapist responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recording data, helping with home living skills, and social skills and helping with fine and gross motor challenges.
Our team meetings are currently held once a month on a Thursday evening from 5:00-6:30 and sessions are from 3:15 to 6:00, two or three days a week (you will be picking our daughter up her school bus after school.) We ask that you are seriously able to commit to the team for at least one year.
You should be FUN, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You should have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible and you need to be able to take constructive feedback and implement it immediately. Salary will be negotiable based on your experience and your performance.
If you are interested, please send a short cover letter and your resume to us at: cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.com
We look forward to hearing from you.
