Want to have better access to quality ABA in your school district?
An analysis of the survey results will be shown at the April 13th ABA Support Network presentation: ABA in the School Setting. Make sure you RSVP dione@abasupportnetwork to reserve your seat at this important talk.
Learn how your district compares to others, find how the Surrey School district was able to make progress towards ABA support, and see what ABA can look like in the classroom setting. This presentation will give you all the tools you will need for advocating in your district.
If you would like to have individual results for your district, please e-mail Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca and use the name of your district in the Subject line. If there is more than one contact a district, Nancy will get you connected.
April 8, 2010 at 4:43 am #7465Nancy WaltonParticipantThe ABA Support Network will be having a SECOND HAND BOOK SALE at Watermania in Richmond on Saturday, April 17th. We are in need of VOLUNTEERS to collect and organize the books, and to work at the sale. I will help organize the whole thing as I've done several book sales like this.
We are currently collecting gently used books. We NEED CHILDREN'S BOOKS of any kind (Franklin, Barney, Harry Potter, etc) AND ADULT NOVELS (paperbacks or hardcover). Once we have our coordinators we can establish drop off locations for book donations. If you live outside of Surrey, please contact me if you would like to help collect books in your area, and I can come around to pick them up. Parents can also bring books to the ABA SN meeting on April 13th.
And lastly, come on down to Watermania for some fun, take your kids for a swim, and buy some cheap books. We will probably sell most of them for $1 (if we sell 1000 books, thats $1000!!!)
If you can help please contact the ABA Support Network at Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca regarding your book donations and/or availability and location.
Thanks for your help.

The sessions would be about three hours in length and the successful candidate would need to commit to two sessions per week, as well as attending a team meeting once per month to discuss the child's progress. The sessions look to improve social, cognitive, and academic skills. There is also a possibility of the successful candiate being able to accompany the child to school as an aid in the mornings if they are interested. This is a great oppurtunity for university students of really anyone looking to gain experience in teaching, special needs, child psychology, speech pathology, or occupational therapy. Ecperience with Autism is preffered but is not necessary as all training will be provided. If interested please send your resume to the posted e-mail address.
