After two years, the time has come again:
We need a new lead therapist for our team. Our eight year old daughter is high functioning, verbal, gentle,
affectionate, and very entertaining. Her therapy is fascinating, and her progress is swift. She has been doing aba for six years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch and EAP (the Early Autism Project,) hence it is a home-based ABA program.
Previous experience with ABA programs is a must.
Previous lead experience would be swell.Training will be provided by our current lead who is amazing.
You are in luck.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: running sessions on your own, arranging team meetings bi-weekly, overlapping with our consultant, providing reports to the consultant, and overlapping therapists.
You will also need to provide feedback to therapists and ourselves, train new therapists, oversee data recorded, probe new targets, and coach the team.
Our team meetings are currently held every second Thursday evening from 4:30-6:00.
You, of course, need to be FUN, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and have lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible.
You also need to be able to take constructive feedback and implement it immediately. A current criminal record check will be required, and your salary will be negotiable based on your experience and your performance.
We live in central Vancouver near Main and Broadway and near Cambie and 22nd.

April 13, 2010 at 12:18 am #7459Nancy WaltonParticipantBook Donations
Still looking for donation of adult and children's PAPERBACKS. If you have hardcovers, only donate them if they are less than 5 years old and in excellent condition. Hardcovers don't sell as well, but are also a lot heavier for our volunteers to carry in to the sale.
Donations can be brought to Tuesday's ABA Support Network meeting (a van will be out front for collection before the meeting) or if you are in the NORTH SHORE, you can drop them off at David Bridges. E-mail me for his contact wiklo@shaw.ca.
Thanks so much,

My son has one last anxiety, and that is expresso machines. We would like to borrow one for one or two months so we can target getting used to the machine. Please contact Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca if you are able to live without your expresso for a while (or want to give it away, or sell it cheap).
thanks,

April 9, 2010 at 2:24 am #7463Elaine RaynaultKeymasterNeed Support Worker–Kindergarten in South Surrey
This is an amazing opportunity for the right person. My 4.5 year old son is going to full day kindergarten this September and we need an experienced ABA instructor to join his team and go to school with him next year. You must have close to 1000 hours of experience already, but we will provide a great deal of additional training. Prefer someone who has experience with high functioning children who has worked on social skills and peer interactions.
He is the youngest of 3 boys with Autism attending the same school and we would like to hire for more than one team. Our consultants are Dr. Sara White and Colby Anderson.
We are looking for the right fit for our family. We are happy to provide as much support and training as needed and would like to have a collaborative relationship in and out of school. We have a small and very strong team and an extremely positive environment.
