ABA Support Worker 20hr position in South Surrey
Do you have 1000 hours of ABA experience or close? Would you like to work as a school Support Worker in the Surrey School District? Our SW is leaving soon and we are hiring for someone able to begin training immediately to start in November, December or January (we have some flexibility with this).
The position is with a young primary grade, very high functioning child with a fantastic sense of humor and personality. He has a casual home program and a classroom helper type aid in school under the supervision of our Consultant, Dr. Sara White. Perfect for someone with experience with young children who is a fun and natural teacher.
You must be an EXCELLENT communicator and be very clear about why you want to work as a support worker in school.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an experienced, supportive and involved family and consultant and to step into a position in an accommodating and helpful school.
We will consider any qualified candidate, but preference will be given to anyone with prior training on a Sara White team.
Please send your resume and an introduction letter to i_am_elaine@shaw.ca

Hi everyone – your silence has been deafening! Please take a minute to consider responding to this post if it applies to you.
As many of you know, the North Shore parent support group presents a yearly talk for parents about navigating the school system. Many of you have probably heard this information either through North Van. or another parent support group.
As one of the parents who has helped coordinate that presentation in the past, I'm wondering if anyone out there (a) has had direct experience with the s. 11 process and (b) is prepared to share those experiences. I think it would be helpful for parents in different districts to know what strategies work best where they live. If you have confidentiality concerns we would certainly respect that too, though obviously one goal is to tailor the presentation, while another is to be able to share stories as much as possible if parents are willing.
If you feel you have a story to share that would help other parents, please contact me privately at andreafinch@shaw.ca. Thanks in advance for paying it forward to all of us who are getting ready for "Back to School" season.
Cheers,

My name is Teela Hudak. I am a psychology student who currently holds a Bachelors in Psychology. I'm working on getting together my application for my Masters.
I'm very interested in the field but have no hands-on experience at this time. I am very good with kids and quick to learn.
Aside from my school schedule, my schedule is fairly open and flexible.
Any families or teams interested in exploring the possibility of working together can contact me at
Thank you.
