A treatment home has started in North Vancouver for a youth diagnosed with autism, by board certified behaviour analysts from the US and Canada. This is an excellent opportunity to become involved with a student implementing individualized programs and behaviour management systems. Excellent training and supervision will be provided.
The student being supported at this treatment home is an active 16-year old boy, and as a part of his behaviour management program staff are required to participate with him in home and community-based recreation activities. Therefore, it is essential that staff are in good physical condition and can participate in these activities with him; male applicants are preferred, as this student also requires assistance with personal care skills. Standard checks and certificates will be required for the successful applicant.
We are currently recruiting for full, part time and auxiliary staff positions. All staff will be required to attend all team meetings and consultations with the clients behavioral consultants.
Interested applicants please respond by email with cover letter & attached resume to dbridges1@shaw.ca

January 10, 2011 at 2:01 am #7578Heather BurkeMemberWANTED SENIOR THERAPIST – NEW WESTMINSTER (Queens Park Area)
We are looking a positive, energetic person to work with our funny, charming and affectionate 7-year-old son, William, who is in the first grade at school. He is very sociable and is a bright and eager learner.
William has made amazing gains in treatment over the last three years through ABA therapy under the local direction of experienced behavioural consultant, Gabrielle Stignant and senior consultant Michele Shilvock. He is doing well in school, has made friends, has just learned to swim, and is working on his yellow belt in karate.
Currently, we are focusing on refining his social skills primarily through peer and community activities. He generally does well one on one with his friends but struggles to balance his attention among a larger group and be flexible in playing with a group.
This position involves two to four shifts Monday, Wed, Thurs or Friday from 2:45-6:00 or possibly on Sunday mornings.
Our ideal candidate will be dependable and willing to commit to at least one year. (Most of our staff have stayed beyond one year due to their attachment to William).
The wage is within the market rate for senior therapists and will be based upon skill level and experience. Wages are paid upon receipt of therapists invoice by the parents as we know that waiting for funding from the government can be lengthy.
If you are responsible, energetic, creative, and motivated, we would like to hear from you. Please email Heather Burke at hburke@telus.net with your resume.
