February 18, 2011 at 6:18 pm #7658Drew BeckettMember***VICTORIA AREA BI SEEKING WORK***
Hello, my name is Drew and I am seeking employment as a Behaviour Interventionist.
I have a few years experience in behaviour intervention with experience in ABA practice with boys and girls from 3-10 years of age at various functional levels.
My ABA / Behaviour Intervention Training includes:
1)Lovaas based in-home Training DTT including supervised assessments and continual training.
2)Enhanced Milieu Intervention Training ( natural environment/situation-based ABA )
I am trained in discrete trial training, data collection methods & functional behaviour analysis techniques. I have experience from teaching elementary scholastics ( such as basic numeracy/literacy ) using special education methods, to computer assisted facial recognition training and targeted area instruction such as cognitive skills, emotional perception, speech therapeutics & social referencing.
I also have some experience working with interdisciplinary teams. As on the job requirements, I have taught behaviour management techniques to an SEA, learned from a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and others working within home-based teams. While I also have continued self-studies I am completely open to further instruction and understand the need for consistency of procedure on a per-child basis.
I have worked as a Personal Support Worker for an ASD child at Easter Seals camp, and have experience with social outings from bus-rides, swimming, gymnastics to visits to the park.
I am currently employed full-time but prefer BI work and will tailor my schedule to meet your time requirements. BI / ABA therapy work is not only the most rewarding to me, but I feel that I have greater skill in this than my other work ( at a social science research firm ). I love working with children and am excellent in creating and maintaining a useful positive rapport. (Kids like me).
I am interested in any positions at any functional level.
Education:-BFA(hons) University of Victoria
-Associate of Science, Psychology.

Anyone connected to a person with ASD & interested in a free, used Sundance trampoline (approx 10 x 12, rectangular), please email me at dbridges1@shaw.ca.
Although it is about a dozen years old, the frame is in good condition. New tarp and springs. Only thing needed is a new set of safety pads, which might run a couple hundred bucks new. You just have to pick it up from our place on the North Shore.
