March 24, 2011 at 1:45 am #7632RedarbMemberWe are running a 40hr/wk Lovaas style ABA program (under the supervision of a qualified consultant), and are looking to hire a highly qualified behavior interventionist to work with our sweet, smart 4yr old daughter. Our daughter has been in therapy since she was 2.5 years old, and has made significant gains.
Her language is currently still developing, so we are looking for somebody who is proficient at reading children and motivating/teaching them to communicate.
Also, we are needing somebody who is capable of running high quality 1:1 playdates.
The person we hire must:
-have a degree in pyschology, speech pathology or equivalent (please attach your post-secondary education transcript).
-have experience as a behavior interventionist (with preschool age children).
-be highly skilled at reading/understanding children and their behaviors and how to adjust to help them learn at an optimal rate (ie. advanced prompting strategies).
-be detail oriented with an exceptional memory, but not so detail oriented that it restricts creativity and adaptability.
-be high energy.
-be patient and thoughtful of childrens' feelings.
-be honest, reliable, and open to constructive feedback.
-feel a genuine sense of excitement/happiness for a child when he/she learns a new skill, and pride in the fact that your ability to effectively teach is making a life-long difference.
-have no physical constraints, that would prevent you from playing for up to 3hrs on the floor (including lifting her).
-have your own reliable transportation to West Abbotsford.
-be available for team meetings every other week (usually Friday's). Meetings are between 12:00-2:30pm.
-be able to work at least (4) 3.5hr shifts per week. Shifts are 9:00am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-5:00pm). Shifts run 7 days per week.
-be able to commit to the position for at least 1 year.
-be a non-smoker.Pay depends on amount of experience, education, and skill.
A criminal record check is required.
If you are interested and meet the above qualifications, please send your cover letter, resume, and transcript of grades to sweetheart.aba@gmail.com . Also include the minimum and maximum number of shifts you would prefer to work, as well as which shifts you can or cannot cover (please be very specific).
Only successful applicants will be contacted due to time constraints.
