Hi don't know if this is the right area or not.
My friend needs help. she is doing her Master thesis on adult siblings who have a sibling with autism. There is very little infomation that is Canadian based in this area. I don't know if anyone could help or be able to point me or her in the right direction. Because of the UBC ethics rules, she can't directly ask people or directly post anything on a website and have to have a third party (either a person or an organization) distribute the poster/ask people
to participate.Here is her info
hi my name is Laura McNamara Filiposki i am taking my masters in social work focusing on Autism here at UBC. For my thesis I'm recruiting people over 19 who have a sibling with autism. The only requirements is that they be willing to have a recorded conversation with me about what it was like growing up with their brother or sister with autism. It would only take about one hour and I would travel to them for the interview.Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.
Thanks

IreneJune 12, 2012 at 5:05 pm #7995Kim KirschParticipantSSW and Summer BI position
Posted on behalf of a family:One of our Vancouver families is seeking an experienced ABA therapist to recommend to the School District as a Student Support Worker (SSW) for their 10 year old son who has been in a Lovaas ABA program for the past 7 years. This person should expect to be involved in the familys home ABA team and attend their monthly team meetings. This is a good opportunity to work with an experienced, positive and supportive family, team and consultant. The home team is happy to provide as much support as needed and would like to have a collaborative relationship in and out of school. From now until September, the family would like the ABA therapist to work part time in order to become familiarised with their sons program and establish a working relationship with the child and his ABA home support team.
If you are interested and would like more information, please reply to vancouveraba123@gmail.com with a description of your experience and/or a CV/resume as soon as possible. Thank you.
