Our family is looking for a Behaviour Interventionist to work with our son for afternoon aba therapy sessions in our home and in the community. We live in the White Rock/South Surrey area, and have a vibrant five year old son with high-functioning autism (Aspergers). Our son is very bright, social, verbal, imaginative, and an enthusiastic learner. The person we are looking for is playful, caring, creative, and engaging. We are looking for a fabulous someone who has great communication skills, is passionate about working with children with autism, and works well with a team. For this position, it is also important to be reliable, mature, and organized. A background in speech, psychology, education, recreation, or Orton Gillingham would be an asset, but not necessary.
For this position, training will be provided by our fabulous team from Harmony House, and there will be regular overlap supervisions. A commitment to two-hour sessions, two to three times a week after school, and attendance at a monthly team meeting is required. There may also be an opportunity for some afterschool care.
