Hi Fellow Featers,
We have a 20 year old son who has now graduated from high school and we are looking to find individuals that he could perhaps hook up with. He is non-verbal and lower functioning. We live in Langley so someone close by would be great!
He would attend all outings with a support worker and we are looking for a similar match. Specifically we were looking for a bowling partner and perhaps someone that enjoys trail walks. Musical events are also another preferred activity and we presently attend Semiamhoo Houses karaoke on Thursday afternoons. Anything involving transportation such as skytrain is another big hit.
If you know of anyone looking for the same please contact Tammy by email: my1tam@telus.net.

October 31, 2012 at 10:18 pm #8173Sharon BaxterParticipantBehaviour Interventionists Wanted
An outstanding opportunity to work in the field of ABA and behaviour intervention with youth diagnosed with autism. Three ABA Teaching Homes in North Vancouver, Surrey and Maple Ridge have been set up for youths diagnosed with autism, supported by board certified behaviour analysts from the Canada and the US.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with youth, implementing individualized ABA programs and behaviour management systems. Excellent training and supervision will be provided.
The students being supported in these homes are active, and as part of their behaviour management, staff will be required to participate with them in home and community-based recreational activities. Therefore, it is essential that applicants are in good physical condition and can participate in these activities.
Standard checks and certificates will be required for the successful applicant.
We are currently recruiting male and female; full, part time and auxiliary (on-call) staff positions. Auxiliary staff are required to work a minimum of two scheduled shifts per month and all staff are required to attend all team meetings and consultations with the students behaviour consultants.
