Needed: ABASW in a Fleetwood area elementary school starting in September – either already in the system or looking to be hired in Surrey.We are looking for someone either currently working in the Surrey School District or who has 1000 hours of home experience and who is interested in applying to work in the district to make a match with our son. (The 1000 hours is a requirement of the Surrey School District and non-negotiable).
Our son is 5 years old and is very high functioning. He is sweet, intelligent, very verbal, and has a great love of life. He struggles with social situations, transitions, and often doesn't recognize safety risks. He started reading when he was three and loves stories, poetry, and learning grammar. He also loves doing crafts and creating stories. He is a very funny and affectionate child.
We are an experienced, involved, and supportive family working with a well established team in the Fleetwood area of Surrey.

Walnut Grove family looking for experienced BI/ABA therapist to work with our five-year old boy. He is a very high functioning, caring, energetic little guy with ASD. We are currently implementing an in-home ABA program directed by our certified BCBA behaviour consultant. We would like someone for two hour sessions, 2-3 times a week, after school.
Successful applicants will need;
– Criminal records check
– ABA experience
– Strong work ethic
– College/university, student/graduate major in (psychology, behavioral science, ECE-special need, ABA, Speech & Language Pathology or medical field)
– Ability to work under the guidance of our consultant
We would prefer someone willing to make a long-term commitment (at least one year) to maintain consistency for his treatment.

Work will include following tasks and programs as outlined by the behaviour consultant for academic, social skills, and functional life skills.
You must be able to work at 2, 2 hour sessions (from 2-4pm, monday-thursday) as well as attend bi-weekly team meetings. We are located in Vancouver by the Killarney area. All training will be provided under the supervision of Sarah Leadley, BCBA, from Able Clinic.

Positions are available working with a team to provide intensive, one-on-one therapy to a 16 year old boy with autism. Experience working with autistic children would be helpful but is not required. All training will be provided under the supervision of Sharon Baxter (MA,BCBA) and Intern Julee Bisiker.
Therapy will take place in our home in West Vancouver. Therapists should be able to commit to 2-3 shifts per week in addition to one Team Meeting (2hours) per month for the duration 1 year (minimum). Therapist pay will be based on experience.
Program focuses mainly on functional communication and life and leisure skills both in the home and in the community. Must have your own vehicle and be willing to do outings. We are looking for someone who is energetic, dedicated and works well on their own as well as being a good team member.
These positions will appeal particularly to people with an interest in education, special education, speech/language pathology, psychology and clinical therapy. Other families in our area are looking for trained therapists to work with their children. Once you are trained, there will be no shortage of employment opportunities!
