We are seeking to add another therapist to our established team. Our 8 year old son is verbal, very lovable and lots of fun. He has been in a program for 3.5 years and we are now following the grade 2 curriculum. Teaching is done in a very naturalized environment, with the focus being printing, reading and math. In reply to Tony who was looking for info on karate etc. A couple of months ago we enrolled our 6 year old son in Tae Kwon Do at a local school and he is really enjoying it. He goes twice a week and in the short time that he has been going, his focus is already a lot better, he can balance on one foot (which he was never able to before)follow directions better, is showing respect as well as improving every class! We contacted a school in the White Rock area who had some experience with special needs kids who said they would send us some information and we are still waiting. The school our son is attending did not have any experience with autism, however, one of our therapists went in with him the first few times and trained the instructor who was very willing to work with our son. At this time he is getting private lessons but we are hoping to integrate him into the regular class shortly. If you would like more information, please give us a call.
