We are looking for 3-5 energetic, reliable people to work one-on-one as a behavior intervention therapist (BI) doing ABA therapy with a 3-year-old boy. He is a loving, delightful boy who is working on communication / conversation, social interaction, and academic skills (programs change over time).
As a successful candidate you should have lots of energy, patience, strong play skills, a positive attitude, be a good multi-tasker and be able to take and implement constructive feedback. We also encourage questions! Enthusiasm, dedication, reliability and a willingness to learn are required.
Individuals interested in early childhood education, ABA therapy, psychology, education, special education, nursing, speech pathology or any other career involving children and clinical therapy are welcome.
Some previous experience strongly preferred, but not necessary. Applicants should be at least 19 years of age and be willing to complete or have a current criminal record check.
Sessions will be held Monday to Friday mornings 10-12 and afternoons 3:30 – 5:30 and mandatory team meetings will be held every 4 weeks (date to be decided based on team availability).
In your application / email, please indicate which shifts you can fill as well as your expected/ current hourly rate.
All initial training and any ongoing training will be provided by our BCBA Consultant / Junior Consultant.

Posting on behalf of a family:Are you a fun, energetic person who loves to work with kids and enjoys implementing an ABA home program in a fun and unique way?
If so, please reply to this ad. Our ABA home team (supervised by our BCBA Consultant) is looking for a Behavior Interventionist to work with our son with Autism in the community on advanced skills. Experience is not required, however it is definitely an asset. Sessions will be 1-2 times per week, after school, for 1.5 hrs.

We are looking for 2-4 enthusiastic, fun, and motivated people to work with our son during afterschool sessions from 4-6pm in Glen Valley area of Langley. Our ABA home program is lead by BCBA Behavior Consultant, Theresa Jouan.
This is a great experience for those wanting to work in the field of behaviour analysis, education, and psychology and who want to gain more experience working with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Successful candidates need to be motivated, eager and quick to learn. Although no previous experience is required, it is required that you will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and be able to accept and implement feedback accordingly.
You must be able to make at least a 1 year commitment, be at least 19 years of age, attend monthly team meetings, be extremely proficient in the English language and be willing to complete a criminal record check. We are looking for 1-2 people who can work 2-4 early afternoon sessions as well as a Tuesday morning session. You must also be available to attend monthly team meetings which are scheduled based on the teams availability.

The ABLE Developmental Clinic INC
Present a course in:SAFE MANAGEMENT of DISRUPTIVE AND ASSAULTIVE BEHAVIOR
A Practical Program for Parents and tutors focusing on the Safe Management of Disruptive and Assaultive Behavior. This program is designed for professionals and staff who deal with assaultive and / or crisis situations on a regular basis. It teaches prevention, de-escalation as well as non-violent physical intervention. In this instance, it is being offered for Parents and tutors of students with strong behavior excesses (self injury and aggression) who are associated with FEATBC and ABLE Developmental Clinic. Although the nature of the course is not ABA it is being presented for its value in principles related to non-violent physical intervention and the management of crisis situations. Parents and tutors of students with ASD are often placed in crisis situations as a result of the students diagnoses. This program is not a behavior program or behavior reduction intervention, but rather a training process for those instances when students are in crisis, safety is compromised (theirs and/or yours) and safe physical intervention is required. Individuals who attend and successfully complete this course will be receiving acknowledgement from the Crisis Prevention Institute for their completion.
The course will cover the following areas:
1. Crisis Development (Theory)
2. Non-Verbal Behavior (Theory)
3. Paraverbal Communication (Theory)
4. Verbal Intervention (Theory)
5. Precipitating Factors, Rational Detachment, and Integrated Experiences (Theory)

Nate Searle, M.S. BCBA
Behavior Analyst, Certified CPI InstructorMr. Searle is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, an Associate at the ABLE Developmental Clinic Inc, and a Registered Autism Service Provider in the province of BC. Mr. Searle holds a Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from St. Cloud State University. Mr. Searle has 12 years of hands on experience, and has worked with a variety of clients who are vocal and non-vocal; beginning, intermediate and advanced learners; and children with various difficult behaviour profiles. Nate has worked in various cities and towns in British Columbia and the Yukon.
Throughout his career Nate has worked in home based, school and residential settings holding the titles of Behavior Analyst, Clinical Supervisor, Supervisor, School based Instructor, and Senior Behavior Instructor. He has had the opportunity to work with more than 50 clients, ranging in age from 2 years to 20 years of age and with a variety of diagnoses. Nate has worked under a dozen different consultants, including Dr. Richard Foxx and Dr. Michael Cataldo. His current areas of interest and research include anxiety, verbal behaviour, behaviour cusps and conditioning.

As attendance is limited to 40 people you must pre-register. You can pre-register by emailing natesearle@gmail.com . You will receive an email back asking you to acknowledge association with FEATBC or ABLE and to acknowledge that 1 of 40 spots is to be held for you. Acknowledging that a spot should be held for you will make you responsible for the incurred expense of registering (as no one else can fill that spot, and I must pre-order all materials). Once you have confirmed participation this fee will be due regardless of your attendance on the day of training.
