    Please tune in to CKNW tomorrow at 930 AM!

    David Marley, who is one of the founding directors of Medicare for Autism Now! and has been providing strategic advice to FEAT (pro bono) for the last 3 years will be on The Bill Good Show, tomorrow morning. He will be officially announcing his candidacy to run as and INDEPENDENT in West Vancouver-Capilano in the upcoming provincial election which will be on May 12th.

    During the last 3 years, David has worked extremely hard on behalf of all our kids to have ABA treatment universally acccessible and covered under Medicare.

    Tomorrow, he will discuss his campaign platform. If elected, he will introduce legislation to amend provincial guidelines in order to have ABA treatment included under Medicare.

    He will be on with Vicki Huntington who is another candidate who is running as an independent in Delta.

    Please listen in at 9:30a.m. on CKNW 980 AM

    If you would like to contact David you can do so at vote4marley@gmail.com or 602-970-1258.

    Conservative Election promise for people with disabilities;

    In the recent federal election, our PM promised to introduce income splitting for families who have someone with a disability. I wrote my MP about this in October and finally received a response from his office today. Sadly, my MP wasn't even aware of his party's own election promise.

    Following is the reference on the Conservative website:

    http://www.conservative.ca/EN/1091/105904

    "Allow families to split their income between spouses to reduce their taxes in situations where one spouse is not working full-time in order to care for one or more family members with disabilities – whether children or adults".

    I encourage all families to immediately contact their Conservative MP to remind and educate them on this promise. We have a budget coming up on the 27th. Let's flood these politicians with phone calls, emails, etc. to pressure them to keep this promise.

    Re: Jonathan Howard & "Run the Dream"

    I have been following Mr. Howard's run for several months now and was initailly very enthusiastic. I was very touched that he cared enough about Canadians with autism that he would actually run across the coutnry. However, when I started seeing him pose with various politicians (Mike Lake and our PM, for example) who showed up for the photo-ops, I became quite concerned about what is really being accomplished here. It will certainly be interesting to see which politicans show up this Saturday. Just my thoughts…..
