    BIs needed in Burnaby (near Kingsway & Griffiths Ave.)

    Looking to hire 2 Behavioural Interventionists to work with a 5-year-old boy with mild autism starting in September. You will be working under the supervision of a BCBA Behaviour Consultant to implement an intervention program based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

    During your sessions, you will be engaging the child in fun activities, while teaching a variety of skills, such as communication skills, social skills, and play skills. You will be expected to collect data, and attend monthly team meetings. You will receive ongoing training from the Behaviour Consultant.

    This is a great opportunity for those studying Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and other related disciplines.

    Location: Burnaby (near Kingsway & Griffiths Ave.)

    Hours: Mon-Fri 3:15-5:15 (2 or 3 sessions/week per BI); 1 monthly team meeting (schedule to-be-determined)

    REQUIREMENTS:
    -Be energetic and have strong play skills
    -Be responsible and dependable
    -Have experience working with children and/or children with autism
    -Have good communication and interpersonal skills
    -Be fluent in English
    -Minimum 19 years of age
    -Have reliable transportation to and from the client’s home
    -Have alear criminal record check
    -Be willing to commit to 1 year minimum

    We’re looking for a part-time behaviour interventionist our home-based program in Richmond.
    Experience in the areas of Psychology, Special Education, or related disciplines preferred, but not necessary.

    You will be working with a 4-year-old child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques.

    Therapists must possess:
    • Enthusiasm and positive attitude
    • Ability to work with team members
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Patience and commitment

    You must be able to work at least 2 sessions a week, as well as attend monthly team meetings (usually on Sunday afternoons). Sessions are approximately 2 hours long with flexible hours. Training and supervision will be provided by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. You must be able to make at least a 1 year commitment, be at least 19 years of age, and have (or be willing to complete) a criminal record check.

    Bilingual speakers highly preferred (English and Cantonese/Mandarin)
