    PART-TIME ABA INTERVENER – Surrey
     
    A part-time ABA Intervener is needed to join a team implementing an in-home early intervention program of Applied Behaviour Analysis for a child with Autism.  The program includes Discrete Trial Teaching, play skills, language development and incidental learning.
     
    The successful applicant will report to the parents. He/She will work one-on-one with the child for 2-3 hours; 4 days per week. A current criminal record check will be required.  Wages will depend on experience.
     
    Qualifications:
     
    * University degree in a related field is an asset (child development, education, psychology)
     
    * Strong desire and aptitude for working with children – warm, caring & patient
     
    * Highly committed, reliable and creative
     
    * Open to, and able to act on continuous performance feedback in order to improve
    quality of work and outcome for child.
     
    * Possesses and is able to apply good judgment and problem solving skills
     
    * Able to make at least a 12-month commitment
     
    * Experience doing Discrete Trial Training is an asset, although not essential as training will be provided
     
    This opportunity to learn basic practical skills in the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) would appeal to someone who wants to enrich their skills and who may have the goal of working with children with special needs.  Most importantly, you will be making a profound difference in the life of a child.

    Just wanting to get some feedback regarding the Laurel Program. My son is 2 1/2 and has been recently diagnosed with ASD. We are just beginning our journey with interviewing, etc.
