A friend of mine from Maple Ridge is up against the daunting prospect of choosing a service provider and starting up a program for her child. Are there any support groups in that part of town? Or someone who has recently gone down that road and can steer her in the right direction? My experience is based on what was available two years ago, so I'm probably not up to date with the latest problems (ie: waiting lists) and solutions.
Thanks.
Timothy RalphsMemberI was wondering if anyone had any experience teaching music to a child on the spectrum. I would guess that an ABA approach would work in this area too. Does anyone know if there is a program available or a teacher who has had success?
Thanks,

Is anyone using a Speech and Language Pathologist in the Vancouver area who is really good with high functioning autistic preschoolers? Are there many difficulties having a SLP work well with an ABA team? Or is this a silly question? We are really new to this game and would appreciate any advice you might have. For instance, if you have a really strong response to "If I was starting this whole thing over again, this time I'd…" well, please email us.Also, we've heard that some people are getting ABA therapist applicants who aren't able to commute very far because they are using public transit. If you do get somebody in this position who would be able to get Downtown, could you give them our number: 689-2462.
We are just starting a new program with WEAP and have the first workshop tentatively booked for FEB 24/25.
Thanks so much,
Paula and Tim (Sebastian's parents)
