Looking for a experienced therapist interested in becoming an SEA

Our son is 13 years old and has just started grade 8. He has attended Langley Fine Arts School since grade 1 and has friends there. He is easy going, flexible, cooperative and eager to learn. He has a great sense of humor and will make you laugh.

He needs an ABA Support worker for high school. He needs someone who is eager to work with his home team and consultant to integrate his learning into his classroom. Last year he had an SEA-Autism and it was a successful and positive year for him, but unfortunately that SEA left to continue her education. Because he is an easy boy to work with he can easily be "babysat" by an aid who isn't ABA qualified. He deserves an education and our goal is to see him graduate with a Dogwood.

If you are interested or have considered becoming an SEA, please contact me so we can talk about options. Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you!

Would Jean Lewis please contact me? I live in this riding and have exchanged a few emails with Warawa's office. They've invited me to set up a time to speak with him. I am unable to attend the forum but I would like more information on Bill C-304 and the government's position.

    Hello,

I am new to this list. My husband and I live in Langley with our 4 children. Our 12 yr old son is Autistic. He was diagnosed just prior to entering kindergarten. Because he is high-functioning, we haven't explored an ABA program to date; however we are now having great difficulties with his school. They have cut his TA support and now want to modify his school program. Not only is the school giving up on my son academically, I see my son becoming segregated from his peers and isolated in the resource room.

I would appreciate hearing from parents who have older children in an ABA program; and also from parents who have engaged Michelle Fagan as a consultant.

And I may as well as throw out all my questions, I'd love to hear from anyone who's gone up against the Langley School District.

    Thanks all,

    Jan Nusche (jnusche@shaw.ca )
