Looking for an experienced Lead/Senior BI to join a team in Surrey Central Area. Preference is given to candidates with prior behaviour interventionist training and/or experience with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Initial and on-going training is provided. This position is ideal for college students (especially those in psychology, social work or education), and individuals who are 19 years and older and willing to provide a criminal record check.
You must have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, a high level of energy, a fun & creative side, good attention to detail and a desire to make a difference in the life of a child. You must also be great at play!!! This is a fun, challenging and rewarding position.
Hours: 2.5 hour shifts, a minimum of twice per week
Available session times are from 3:00pm onward Monday through Thursday afternoons.
You will require your own reliable transportation and a criminal record check, although the program is situated close to major transit routes. You will also be asked to make a minimum 12 month commitment to the position, as significant training is provided.

Location: Surrey city centre
Behaviour interventionists work one on one with children at home to:
Implement Applied Behaviour Analysis programs individualized for the child and developed by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst
Manage inappropriate behaviours that may arise by following an individualized behaviour plan
Implement strategies designed to teach academic, communication, social, self-help, leisure and independence skills
Record client progress using data collection systems
Be creative in teaching and motivating the student, be playful and silly, and have fun in learning sessions
Be professional arrive on time, maintain commitments, and interact respectfully with families and other staff.Required skills:
Minimum of 1 year post-secondary education in a related field (psychology, education, etc.) An associates or bachelors degree is preferred. Candidates with less coursework will be considered based on related experience.
Must have reliable transportation to and from the clients home
Must have physical stamina to interact with small children.
Must have experience working with young children in some capacity
Experience with ABA, verbal behaviour, and PECS is an asset

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! The program is supervised by BCBA and BCaBA consultants and training is provided. Ideal for college students (especially those in psychology, social work or education), 19 years and older.
