We are looking for an energetic support worker to work in East Vancouver with our cheerful and friendly 8 year old son with Autism. We need the support worker to work 4 shifts per week (Monday to Thursday from 7-11 am). Preference will be given to those with ABA experience.
The support worker would be responsible to get our son ready for school in the mornings. This would be from 7-8:30 am. After he has been picked up for school at 8:30 then we would need general help around the house. This would include cleaning, vacuuming and laundry.
Requirements:
· Female
· At least 19 years old
· Cleared criminal record check and references
· Non-smoker
· Fluent in English
· Minimum 1 year commitment, preferably at least 2 years

LeeLee McCormickParticipantHi,
Our son is 3 1/2 years old and we have been doing ABA with our son for one year. We are having a difficult time getting our son to settle down and go to sleep at a decent hour (lately it is between 10-11pm). We have tryed limiting his sugar after dinner, giving him warm milk, having quiet time with books, and darkening the room and all this doesn't seem to work. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
LeeLee McCormickParticipantHi,
I am looking for a good SLP to work with my son. He is 3.5 yrs old and is starting to make sounds/approximations but not many words yet. Does anyone have any information on a good SLP in the Richmond/Vancouver area that has experience with Autism. We are looking for someone with lots of energy to help keep our son motivated and engaged.
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.Lee

I have a son that is three years old, and he has been in an intensive ABA program since July. He has been making progress, but lately he seems a bit bored in sessions, also he seems worn out. I was wondering if this is normal or not, and what could be done to stop this from happening. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Lee
