MemberI am looking to hire one or possibly two people to work with a 7 year old boy with Autism in his home in Port Moody. The sessions would be about three hours in length and the successful candidate would need to commit to two sessions per week, as well as attending a team meeting once per month to discuss the child's progress. The sessions look to improve social, cognitive, and academic skills. There is also a possibility of the successful candiate being able to accompany the child to school as an aid in the mornings if they are interested. This is a great oppurtunity for university students of really anyone looking to gain experience in teaching, special needs, child psychology, speech pathology, or occupational therapy. This job would start in the new year, with going with the child to pre-school once or twice per week, and or working with him in his home on social and academic skills.Then in the fall of 2010 this position would be a full time (30 hours per week) position or part time, if you wanted to job share. This would entail going with the child to kindergarten or grade one at a private school in port coquitlam. You would be working with the classroom teacher to assist the child throughout the school day. You will need to be available in the summer to train for this.
We are looking for someone is willing to be trained and is willing to learn….experience would be great but is not necessary.
This might also possibly be applied for as two different jobs……one for the pre-school aid and home worker, and one for the school support system to be trained in the summer and start in the fall.

MemberTUTOR NEEDED IN PORT COQUITLAM
We are currenlty looking for a fun and energetic tutor to work with a nine year old boy with mild autism at his home in Port Coquitlam. The tutoring sessions are usually 2 or 2.5 hours long and work on academic, social, and life skills.
You would need to be available on one or two days aferschool, and the two days we currently have available are Mondays and Fridays.
You would also need to be available on Tuesdays afterschool to start out for about a month in order to train. Then once you are trained you would work one or two days a week (Mondays and or Fridays).
We are also looking for somebody with their own veichle as you may be required at times to take the child on community outings.This is an amaazing oppurtunity to work with some great professionals in the psychology and education fields. This job would be great experience for anyone looking to go into teaching, speech pathology, child psychology, or occupational therapy.
No experience necissary as all training will be provided. Pay is negotiable and based on experience.

We are currently looking to hire an ABA therapist to work with a 9 year old boy diagnosed with Autism and his amazingly wonderful family. He has been in programming since the age of three, and as of now his programming consists of more school like tutoring. We are also hoping that this person will have their own veichle so that they may take the child on community outings to work on social and life skills.
No experience needed as all training will be provided by the senior therapist and behavioral consultant.
