Stella,
I know several families who recommend the pediatric dentist group at Oakridge mall. Their offices are very close to Dr. DeLevie's office but unfortunately I can't remember the name offhand.

Justin HimmelrightMemberI highly recommend you watch the video at this link. Warning to parents, this is not for the faint at heart.
http://www.autismspeaks.org/sponsoredevents/autism_every_day.php
This is a video called "Autism Every Day" put out by Autism Speaks. It very clearly documents the challenges and struggles faced by families living with autism. It is a very powerful piece of work. Share it with you MP, your MLA, your teachers, your family and perhaps it will bring them a few inches closer to understanding your life.

– a folding table?
– a small generator?
– a pop-up picnic awning (to cover the table)?that you would be willing to share?

Justin HimmelrightMemberre: homeowners grant. My understanding is that it does not apply to our situation. I looked into it last year. Basically, the grant is intended to offset any additional costs you may have incurred in order to modify your home to accomodate the disabled person living there. Things like ramps and elevators etc.
Justin HimmelrightMemberHi Keith,
Your situation is unique and requires some pretty lengthy answers. Please pass along your direct email address to me at himright@telus.net and I will provide some suggestions to you. There are some things you could try to accomplish in Vancouver this summer and they will require some planning.
I regret to say that it sounds like the situation in Japan is approaching the dark ages when it comes to autism treatment. You may need to consider importing your expertise. Many of us in BC do that, bringing people in from the US.
Justin HimmelrightMemberNote to Alan,
Please email me directly. I will put you in touch with a Petition Coordinator in your area and we can figure out the best thing to do with the signatures you have collected. Great job by the way, 281 signatures is very impressive !
