    Hi fellow FEAT members,

For those who are perplexed by my post, I am a running Canadidate in the CBC show "Canada's Next Great Prime Minister". This show is a nationally televised program on CBC Television and a competition opened to Canadians aged 18-25. Through debate and challenges, the candidates are narrowed down to four who appear on CBC Television, where they engage in a heated debate on the issues facing Canada today. The audience votes and the winner receives $50,000 and a paid internship at Magna International.

What does it have to do with FEAT? One of my major proposition is to include autism under Medicare. More specifically, to provide government funded, but scientifically based treatment to Canadian families. Although I will not be able to propose a bill (I am not really going to become the prime minister, although I wish I was), this will be a good way to send out our message nationally to a younger audience and hence counter some of the crap CBC has produced in the recent past (the Michelle Dawson segments).

Therefore, I am asking you for your support and votes (internet votes).

You can see my audition tape and platform speech by clicking on the following link: http://www.cbc.ca/nextprimeminister/candidates/edwardchen.html

To vote for me, simply rate the video on the website (1-5 stars) and if you wish, leave a comment with your thoughts, support or objections.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of my propositions I made, or you need any clarifications, please feel free to send me an e-mail and I will happily respond an address to each of your concerns in detail. Also, please pass this message on to those who may be interested in voting.

I thank you all deeply for your time and support,

    Ed.

The Open Mic For Autism Team has some exciting news about "Open Mic For Autism" benefiting FEAT of BC!

After hours of mixing and arranging the recordings, we have a sneak peek of one of the tracks that will appear on the benefit album. "Mr.P" is performed by Joey Laguio from the St. Patrick's Regional Choir featuring DJ Hillman. This song is a dedication to Mr.P himself, who is a wonderful youth living and coping with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

To listen to the track, simply click HERE or go to http://www.openmicautism.blogspot.com

    Hi Everybody,

Aside from the fact that this is my very first post on the discussion board (I finally found the message box!), I am here to let everybody know about "Open Mic for Autism" on behalf of the "Open Mic For Autism" Team.

"Open Mic for Autism" is a compilation album that benefits the FEAT Foundation in BC and it is scheduled for released on Christmas, 2008. The purpose of the album is to promote awareness for the condition of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and to provide resources out there for parents who may have children with autism. 50% of the sales proceeds will go towards FEAT, and the remaining funds will go towards a benefit concert where all ticket sales will go towards helping children with autism. The concert will extend itself into an ongoing open mic event that will allow individuals with disabilities to share their art and personal experiences with the rest of the world.

The official website is located at http://www.openmicautism.com
Please feel free to check out current progress, pictures, updates at

For those of you who are facebook fans, we are also on facebook under the same name. Please feel free to join and contribute to the discussions and posts.

Myself and the rest of the team will also attend the rally on March 2nd. Hope to meet all of you there!

    Ed.
