* is a certified lifeguard and swim instructor
* has taught swim lessons and coached swim club at a rec centre
* has spent much time over the years with his eleven year old cousin with ASD who began ABA therapy at the age of two

My name is Conor and I have an 11 year old brother with ASD who began ABA therapy at the age of three. As a result, I have experienced firsthand the vast benefits of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

Skills, abilities and experiences:

• I am studying kinesiology and other general studies courses at the University of the Fraser Valley and plan to pursue a career in education.
• I have recently completed the line therapist workshop at Harmony House.
• I enjoy most sports, am very athletic and have completed personal training courses.
• I have a passion for soccer and have volunteered with kids soccer programs.
• I enjoy video and computer games (mostly sports games: FIFA, NHL and racing cars).
• I am very social, energetic, fun, hardworking and patient.

Third year UBC Psychology/English major seeking additional BI and/or swim instructor employment (May – August). Preferably in Vancouver area.

Skills, abilities and work experiences:

• has been working as a BI since Oct. 2009 for three families.
• has completed the life guard and swim instructor certification (NLS & WSI) and has been doing therapy sessions with one ASD child in a pool.
• has completed the line therapist workshop at Harmony House.
• has a ten year old brother who was diagnosed in 2003 with ASD. Therefore, has experienced firsthand the benefits of ABA and early intervention.

Annelise’s swim instructor and life guarding skills compliment her experiences working with children on the Autism spectrum. The Spring and Summer months are ideal times to integrate pool time into a home based program (i.e. working on behaviours at the same time as developing swimming abilities).

Re: Second year UBC student looking for a position as a line therapist

Annelise was very grateful for the many emails she received yesterday in response to her ad. Unfortunately, at this time she is dependent on public transport and most of the emails received came from the White Rock, Surrey and Fraser Valley area.

Annelise attends UBC and lives near Children's Hospital (at King Ed and Oak). Therefore, she can only consider positions accessible by bus or skytrain within a reasonable distance. Thank you again to those who responded. Please see Annelise's ad listed again below.
