(Co-facilitators for ASBC North Shore Group)Andrea FinchParticipant** IMPORTANT – recall on certain Thomas the Train products due to potential lead content in the paint **
Hi all – I thought I'd draw this story to your attention as I believe that Thomas the Train items are often popular in ABA families.
If you have Thomas the Tank engine trains and products, you will probably want to check out the link below, or simply Google "Thomas recall" to find out which products are being recalled due to the risk of lead content.
I have no reason to think this is a hoax as some of the major news outlets are reporting the story. I have also tried one of the 1-800 numbers and got a message concerning the recall.
It looks like only certain items are subject to the recall and these are items purchased within a specific time period.
If you have items on the recall list, the bulletin states they should be taken away immediately. There are instructions on how to apply to the company for replacements.
No need to contact me for further information, as I don't have any – but do feel free to follow the suggested links.
As if we weren't busy enough already…
Andrea FinchParticipant** Wanted to buy **
Hello everyone,
We are looking for new or used materials related to the "Shrek" movies, especially simple books about the first two (Shrek 1 and 2). We would also consider "Shrek" toys and games.
If anyone has things they are prepared to sell, please e-mail me privately at andreafinch@shaw.ca.
Thanks,
Andrea FinchAndrea FinchParticipantAttention: Kyoung Mi Bae
If you are on this board, please contact me with your e-mail address, so I can send you the forms you requested at the last North Shore ASBC talk. I'm afraid I can't read your handwriting from the sign up sheet.
Thanks,
Andrea Finch
andreafinch@shaw.caAndrea FinchParticipantHi all:
Next in the North Shore ASBC Parent Support Group series: ABA and Tax Season: The Basics. This session is for parents, and we are lucky to have ASBC director and fellow parent Michael Lewis available to talk about the essentials you, as a parent running an ABA programme, will need to know come tax time.
Michael will draw on his years of personal experience and while he is not a registered C.A. and does not claim any specific accounting expertise, this talk will be worthwhile for anyone with questions about how to prepare for tax season.
This talk has been well-attended in the past, so please RSVP as usual.
If there is sufficient interest, we may be able to have a speaker following Michael (as he is not making a formal presentation). This speaker would address school-related issues and might be useful for parents who have questions mid-way through the school year, or for those who missed the school talk in the fall. Please let us know in your RSVP whether this additional topic would be of interest to you.
PLEASE NOTE – this month only, due to scheduling restrictions, the lecture is on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday.
