I have a 3 year old daughter who was diagnosed with ASD spectrum and I would like to hire a Board Certified Behaviour Consultant to create a home based Behavioural Plan of Intervention. If any RASP BCs are accepting new clients and are interested, please email me to set up a (hopefully homebased) interview.
My main goals for my daughter are mostly centred on her verbal and social expression. I feel like she is relatively high functioning: toilet trained, capable of asking for things and talking about what others are doing but verbal and social is where I and her case workers see the greatest challenge compared to other kids. I would also like the opportunity for my wife to participate in any training of behaviour interventionists.
I also would like to possibly fit her interventions around her current pre-school schedule which is Mon- Friday mornings.
I live in the Kingsway-Boundary area.
Feel free to email me any questions.
If you are available, I would prefer to have a telephone or email correspondence before an interview including the following questions. Some seem to apply only to agencies but the gist of the question would also apply to independent BCs:
What is the hourly rate for BIs and BCs?
If we are going away on vacation of 3 weeks with notice given (of course only with my daughter's interests not compromised) will we be asked to pay for what BI's services would have been to any extent during that time? (Before diagnosis we had a 3 week trip planned in March).
Is there a 30 day notice mutual "escape clause" in the contract?
Will you give all relevant data to us if our relationship ends?
Are BI's available in the weekday afternoons or weekends?
What is expense for the initial planning (BPI)?
How many hours will the BC spend/month on team meetings? Can they take place in my home?
Who were your BCBA supervisors? Did they also have BCBA qualification?
DO you have any references of families you worked with recently or currently?
Does your agency take care of the Admin for BI's? Are BI's employees of your agency?
