Medicare for Autism Now!
WHAT: Rally Come and find out how you can make your vote count!
WHEN: Saturday, October 4, 2008, 2:00 – 4:00 PM
WHERE: Eaglequest Golf Club, 7778-152nd St., Surrey, BC V3S 3M4
Parents, professionals and advocates will gather at the Eaglequest Golf Club in Surrey on October 4th in support of Medicare for Autism Now!
The Medicare for Autism Now! national campaign is focussed on creating policy change to make ABA/IBI treatment available for all Canadians diagnosed with autism, regardless of age or where they live.
During this election we will support candidates in specific constituencies across Canada, including BC, Ontario and the Maritimes, regardless of party affiliation, who will publicly commit to supporting legislation which will amend the Canada Health Act to include autism treatment under Medicare.
We need to let those who govern and those who wish to govern know that they are going to be held accountable at the ballot box in this federal election.
You can help end the discrimination against some of the most vulnerable Canadians!

Dione CostanzoParticipantAdd American Airlines to your list for letter writing…"Autistic Toddler Kicked off Airplane". This would be a good time to post experiences and travel tips. I have not been kicked off a plane (yet) but have experienced irate passengers who have complained that my kid was bothering them (for kicking the seat).

DioneDione CostanzoParticipantHi everyone,
Well what can I say about the Rally today except ****WOW****
While we were hoping for 200 people closer to 400 people showed up, and many more sent their support as they could not make it.
Sabrina, Jean, Dave, Louise, Dubravka, Dave, Dr Davie, Dr DeLevie, Bev, Stephan Marinoiu and Harold Doherty – all spoke from the heart and touched everyone there. THANK YOU to all of you for sharing your stories and spreading the word. As a member of the audience I watched many jaws drop as people heard how the Canadian government has discriminated against and continually ignored the plight of hundreds of thousands of Canadians with autism.
I am so proud to have had so many family members and friends out showing their support today. Obviously the word is spreading, support is growing and we are going to see some major changes leading up to and during the next election.
Thank you again to everyone that attended today and making it such a major success.
Please tune into News 1130, Global News and CTV that are running stories on todays event.
MEDICARE FOR AUTISM NOW!!
Cheers,
Dione -
