Tutoring Position Available

Must be good with american sign language………Senior and junior positions are available working with a team to provide intensive, one-on-one therapy to a deaf youth with autism. Experience working with autistic children would be helpful but is not required. All training will be provided under the supervision of Sarah Leadley (,BCBA).

Therapy will take place in our home in mapleridge. Therapists should be able to commit to 2-3 shifts per week in addition to one Team Meeting (2hours) per month. Therapist pay will be based on experience.

Program focuses mainly on functional communication and life and leisure skills both in the home and in the community. Must have your own vehicle and be willing to do outings. We are looking for someone who is energetic, dedicated and works well on their own as well as being a good team member.

These positions will appeal particularly to people with an interest in education, special education, speech/language pathology, psychology and clinical therapy. Other families in our area are looking for trained therapists to work with their children. Once you are trained, there will be no shortage of employment opportunities!

ames is finally reading at 21 years old…..no thanks to sd [one of the better ones]….after one year of our microboard and proper aba
progress is starting……he does half of his own cooking with close supervision….

James left hs is the throes of untreated autism and added mental illness….
being suspended almost a third of the final two years of school
….now he reads 1000 nouns and 30 verbs
[HARDER FOR HIM TO LEARN]and many sentences…………….. plays two sports and volunteers…..please call if this interests you

My son is with Able Clinic for ten years and is now learning rapidly as new funding became available………..must use asl at least moderately.
