***ABA THERAPIST NEEDED TO WORK AT QUEEN’S PARK PRESCHOOL (NEW WESTMINSTER)***

An experienced ABA therapist is needed to attend preschool with a happy, energetic 4 year old boy. He is very high functioning and is a quick learner with a good sense of humour. He is very outgoing and socialable.

Ideally, the candidate will have experience facilitating peer play and teaching social skills. An ECE and special needs certification would also be beneficial.

Shifts will be 12:00 to 3:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting as soon as possible.

Aside from Preschool hours applicants must be able to attend a team meeting for one hour on alternate Thursdays 4:30 to 5:30 pm and have own transportation.

There is also an opportunity for private employment by the family outside of preschool hours.

Our consultant is Michele Shilvock who is a local consultant. She will provide ongoing supervision and training, so this would be a great opportunity for applicants who welcome frequent overlaps and opportunities to further develop their skills. The program is based on the Lovaas method of positive reinforcement.

Wage will depend on skills and experience.

Please submit a cover letter and resume outlining relevant experience via email to burke@telus.net. Contact Heather at 604.862-6223 with further inquiries. Deadline for application is Monday, January 14, 2007.

    Salary for Senior Therapist?

What is the wage range for senior therapists?
I am hiring one and need to know the going rate. Also what are the considerations in determining where the applicant fits in the range?

    Best wishes for 2008!

    Thanks

Coordinating ABA treatment and Government Supported Child Development Aids

    Hi
We have been approved for an aide in William's preschool and daycare settings. I need some advice on how to make sure that SCD is in line with his ABA treatment. We will be receiving funding for William (4 years old).

Has anyone had any experiences with SCD and their ABA program? Any tips/advice?

    Regards
    Heather (William's mom)

My almost four year old son has been recently diagnosed with autism and we are looking for a behavioral consultant.

I have heard good things about Michele Shilvock and would like to heard about your experience if you have/are working with her.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I live in New West and would like to connect with other parents who live in the area to meet for coffee. I feel quite isolated in my experience being new to all this.

Looking for receommendations on a behavioural consultant.

My 4 year old son was recently diagnosed with autism by Dr. DeLevie. We are getting him assessed by Ron Schmidt at ABLE.

Is ABA appropriate for a high functioning child? I am looking for any scientific literature I can read on this topic.

Also, we are looking for a behavioural consultant. The list from ACT is overwhelming. Please help me narrow the list by giving me some names of consultants that you would recommend.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Heather (William's mom)
