    Behaviour Interventionist Needed:

    A BI is needed for at least 2 shifts per week, minimum of 3.5 hour shifts, or possibly of full day shifts (7-8 hours) available. This is an established program under the direction of Sharon Baxter, BCBA and Julee Bassetto, BCBA. Intensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.

    The student is a 22 year old male diagnosed with autism and mitochondrial disease. He has been in an home based ABA program since the age of 3 years old.

    This student's program is run by Arcus Community Resources, out of his family home. The program focuses on communication, leisure, self-help and self-management skills in his home and in the community. The student demonstrates aggression and self-injury.

    We require a one year commitment.

    The successful candidate will be required to use their own vehicle for community outings.

    Behaviour Interventionists Wanted

    An outstanding opportunity to work in the field of ABA and behaviour intervention with youth and young adults diagnosed with autism, in a residential setting.

    Excellent training and BCBA supervision will be provided.

    The students being supported in these homes are active, and as part of their behaviour management, staff will be required to participate with them in home and community-based recreational activities. Therefore, it is essential that applicants are in good physical condition, have a valid class 4 driver’s license and can participate in these activities.

    Standard checks will be required for the successful applicant.

    We are currently recruiting male/female full, part time and auxiliary staff positions for our White Rock, Surrey, Maple Ridge, Vancouver and North Vancouver locations.

    Position to begin December 1st, 2014.

    Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
    -a minimum of 1 year ABA experience preferred
    -be able to provide criminal record check (within last 12 months)

    -compassionate and patient personality
    -excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
    -excellent oral and written communication
    -accurate data taking skills and experience with discrete trial training
    -open for new learning and suggestions; a team player
    -strong creativity and great play skills
    -have own transportation
    -be reliable, patient and consistent
    -be at least 19 yrs old
    -be willing to commit for 1 year
    -Fluent in English

    Education: College/University preferred

    Accreditations: Behavior Interventionist Certificate or related ABA courses preferred but not necessary

    The program focuses on teaching communication skills, life/ leisure skills & community based instruction. Prior ABA experience and/or experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges preferred, but not required. Good organizational skills/ leadership qualities would be helpful.

    Position will be for 1 or 2- 7 hour shifts per week. The individual resides with his family in Langley, is a 21 year old male and has a diagnosis of ASD & Mitochondrial disease. Program focuses on communication skills, life/ leisure skills & building upon skills in the community. Prior ABA experience and/or experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges preferred, but not required. Good organizational skills/ leadership qualities would be helpful. Must have reliable vehicle and be willing to use it for community outings.

    Criminal record check / class 4 driver’s license required. Looking for someone willing to make a long term commitment but minimum of 1 year required.
