    Hey There!!!
Might you just be the one?

Looking for a dedicated, patient, responsible and creative person to join our well established, home based, Lovas ABA, Lisa Wincz team. Our three year old daughter has mild autism, and is *very* verbal, affectionate, and fun. Her therapy is fascinating and her progress is swift.

We live in central Vancouver near Main and Broadway.

Previous experience with autistic children would be an asset but is not required. We would prefer someone who has trained under Lisa but will also be interested in individuals with a psychology or special education background. Initial training will be provided by our senior therapist along with follow up sessions.

Salary is negotiable based on experience. Applicants should have strong play skills, be good multi-taskers, have lots of energy and patience. You need to be able to commit for two or three 3 hour shifts/week, attend bi-weekly team progress meetings on Tuesdays evenings, periodic workshops, and also be committed to the team for at least one year.

Please e-mail resumes to scissorhappy@shaw.ca and call us at: (604)709-6003.

    Thanks Very Much!

    Cathy

    For Patricia Hynds

    Try scouts…
we have an aspergers kid and he enjoys it.
the leaders are very supportive…especially if you become one yourself….then you can have influence on the planning of activities…
just google scouts canada and follow the links.

aside from that we'd be interested in a social skills group as well.

    email us sanc@shaw.ca if interested.

There is a wonderful program in Seattle sponsored by FEAT of Washington called "Transition into Teens". The program was developed by Dr. Peter Gerhardt. Unfortunately there is nothing available here, locally. I would also be interested in having my son participate in a similar program.

Does anyone know of a social skills group for young children with high functioning autism / aspergers in Greater Vancouver?

    Hi everyone

I am looking for a program in Greater Vancouver to supplement my son’s home program that uses a group of children and focuses specifically on teaching social skills. Does anyone know of anything like that in Greater Vancouver?

    Thank you,

    Patricia Hynds
